A velvety-leaved stunner from the cloud forests of Central and South America, Philodendron verrucosum is prized for its heart-shaped foliage with striking contrast: deep emerald-green tops and rich maroon or bronze undersides. The leaves feature prominent, light-green or silver veining, while the petioles are covered in tiny, fuzzy "hairs" (verrucae). This hemiepiphytic climber puts on a dramatic display when given proper support.
