Monstera ‘Mint’ is a rare variegated cultivar of Monstera deliciosa, prized for its mint-green marbling and creamy white variegation. Unlike the more common Albo or Thai Constellation forms, the Mint variety has a softer, pastel-like coloration that sets it apart. Mature leaves often develop fenestrations (natural splits and holes), enhancing the dramatic effect of the variegation.

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun which can scorch variegated sections.
  • Water: Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60–80%). Benefits from humidifiers or greenhouse setups.
  • Temperature: Thrives between 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts.
  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining mix with orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
  • Growth Habit: Upright vining growth with large, fenestrated leaves. Variegation intensity varies by leaf.
  • Toxicity: Not safe for pets if ingested.

Key Notes

  • Rarity: Mint Monstera is considered one of the most iconic variegated forms, often commanding high collector prices.
  • Variegation Stability: Some plants show stable mint variegation, while others may revert or shift over time.
  • Comparison: Unlike Albo (white patches) or Thai Constellation (cream marbling), Mint Monstera’s coloration leans toward soft mint-green tones, giving it a pastel aesthetic.
