Anthurium 'Magnificent Silver' (Anthurium forgetii × Anthurium magnificum) × Anthurium besseae aff.

A three-lineage hybrid built on complementary venation and form traits. 'Magnificent Silver' — itself a cross of A. forgetii and A. magnificum — contributes forgetii's rounded leaf outline with a closed or nearly closed sinus alongside magnificum's leaf scale, velvet substance, and bold silver venation. A. besseae aff., the compact Peruvian species celebrated for its bright vein brilliance, adds venation intensity and refined velvet texture. The cross produces broadly cordate velvet leaves with high-contrast silver venation and varying degrees of sinus closure inherited from the forgetii lineage. Individual seedling expression varies.

• Light: Bright but soft indirect light supports the fullest venation contrast and protects the velvet surface from bleaching. Avoid direct sun.

• Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70-80% is essential for the velvet surface quality and cleanest leaf emergence.

• Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer supplemented with calcium and magnesium every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
