Often misrepresented, the true Anthurium maculosum (not to be confused with mislabeled hybrids) is a terrestrial species from Central America with unique foliage. Its narrow, elongated leaves (10–15 cm long) have a lanceolate shape with smooth margins and a matte, semi-glossy surface.
Light: Low to medium indirect light (shade-tolerant)
Water: Keep evenly moist (never soggy); rainwater preferred
Soil: Epiphytic mix (sphagnum moss + orchid bark + perlite)
Humidity: 70%+ ideal (below 50% causes crispy edges)
Temperature: 65–80°F (18–27°C)
Support: Mount on tree fern plaque (epiphytic habit)
