A cross between two Panamanian velvet anthuriums with complementary and distinctly compatible leaf characters, this hybrid brings together A. papillilaminum — celebrated among collectors for its inky dark, broad, heart-shaped velvety leaves with deep red to violet abaxial coloring and characteristically low basal vein count — with A. panamense, a strap-leafed epiphyte known for its narrow, elongated, gracefully pendulous lanceolate leaves with a smooth leathery texture and clear parallel venation. The result is a hybrid where the dark velvet pigmentation and rich leaf quality of the papillilaminum parent is expressed through the more elongated, narrower leaf form contributed by the panamense parent — seedlings can be expected to express varying degrees of this interplay, with the most desirable individuals combining deep, near-inky foliage with an elegant, elongated blade that gives each leaf a long, architectural quality distinct from either parent alone. Both species share Panamanian lowland origins, making this a geographically coherent and botanically logical cross with genuine hybrid vigor potential.

Provide bright indirect light at the lower end of the spectrum — papillilaminum is more light-tolerant than many dark velvet species, but the darkest foliage coloration is preserved in shadier conditions, and panamense similarly prefers filtered understory light. Keep the medium consistently moist but allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings, using a very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum with excellent drainage.
