Anthurium Silver Blush

A compact velvet-leaf hybrid of Anthurium crystallinum selected for its exceptional silver venation and a distinctive broad silver diffusion that extends outward from the veins across the leaf surface — in the best expressions nearly covering the whole leaf. New leaves emerge with a reddish to blush-pink flush before maturing to deep green with the characteristic silver sheen. Compact in habit at 30-60cm, making it well suited to shelving displays, terrariums, or mixed collector collections where larger velvet anthuriums would be impractical.

• Light: Bright indirect light; silver venation intensity is most pronounced under consistent good indirect light. Avoid direct sun which fades and burns the velvet surface.

• Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage; never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70%+ is essential — silver venation quality and velvet texture are most vivid under consistently high humidity.

• Watering: Keep evenly and consistently moist — allow only the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
