Monstera obliqua (Peru form)
One of the rarest and most demanding aroids in cultivation — a climbing epiphyte native to the Peruvian Amazon, the Peru form is the most heavily perforated of the four recognized obliqua ecotypes, with paper-thin leaf tissue so reduced by fenestrations that the holes occupy more surface area than the leaf itself — an adaptation to the light-dappled, perpetually humid rainforest understory it naturally inhabits. Extremely slow-growing and intolerant of fluctuating conditions; terrarium or cabinet culture is strongly recommended for most growers.

Light: Soft to medium bright indirect light — more sensitive to light intensity than most Monstera species. Avoid direct sun which scorches the paper-thin leaf tissue. Consistent, stable light matters more than intensity.

Soil: Very open, airy epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss; excellent drainage and root aeration are non-negotiable. Never waterlogged.

Temperature/Humidity: Stable warm temperatures between 65-80°F with no cold drafts or fluctuations; very high humidity of 70-90% is essential — the paper-thin leaves desiccate rapidly in dry air. Terrarium or cabinet culture strongly recommended.

Watering: Keep evenly and consistently moist — never allow to dry out, never waterlog. Consistency is more critical than any specific schedule; fluctuations in moisture cause rapid leaf damage.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to quarter strength every 4-6 weeks during active growth; this species is sensitive to fertilizer salt accumulation. Reduce in winter.

Although arriving later on the end of the expected shipping timeline, this sweet Monstera Obliqua arrived in very good condition. The seller, Plantamani, was extremely careful, thoughtful, and detailed as this sweet baby was well packaged in several layers. The shipment included: packing materials to keep soil in, the pot was taped into position, wrapped in cardboard, and bubble wrap we wanted to wait over a week since it arrived, as the plant leaves we’re all bent over to fit the packaging, but now they are up and about thriving.. We would do business again with Plantamani.

I am very happy with my order. I had previously gotten scammed by another Etsy seller and wanted yo repurchase all the plants from a different vendor. Not only was the plants absolutely beautiful the seller was a saint when I had made a mistake on my end. Some leaves are a bit unhappy but that’s to be expected being shipped.
Healthy plant. Some damaged leaves. Not sure if it was in shipping, but overall a healthy plant. Shipping was a little slower than expected, but when shipped it was next day. Would definitely buy again from this company.

I had a mixed experience with this seller. I ordered a Monstera Peru and a Monstera Obliqua Peru and paid for cold protection. The first shipment arrived well packed with a heat pack, but one plant was incorrect (a Red Congo Philodendron instead). I returned it as requested and provided photos.
Communication was slow and required multiple follow-ups. When the replacement arrived, it was the correct plant, but there was no heat pack and the plant had yellowing leaves, very dry soil, and slightly crispy foliage.
I will keep the plant and work on restoring it, but due to the initial error, delayed communication, and condition of the replacement shipment, I would not order from this shop again.
The plant is in great shape and arrived faster than we expected. It was also taller than anticipated, so that was a huge plus. We would definitely buy from this seller again.
