The broad, paddle-shaped leaves display bold irregular striping in deep emerald and creamy white, with pink-edged midribs adding a warm accent, and young leaves characteristically emerge with the purple-maroon mottling typical of the Cavendish lineage before expressing the full variegated pattern. Like all variegated Musa, the pattern extends to the fruit itself — smaller, sweet, edible bananas with the same striped patterning — and the variegation is the result of a chimeric genetic mutation, making each leaf and each individual plant's expression uniquely its own.
