The Anthurium Black Diamond is a rare hybrid prized for its dramatic, velvety dark spathes that appear almost black, contrasted by glossy green foliage. It thrives in bright, indirect light, moderate watering, high humidity, and well-draining soil.

Care Guide

Light

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.

  • Best positioned near a north or east-facing window.

Watering

  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry.

  • Roughly 0.5 cups every 9 days for a 5-inch pot, adjusted for pot size and environment.

  • Overwatering causes yellow leaves; underwatering leads to wilting.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Ideal temperature range: 65–80°F (18–27°C).

  • Prefers high humidity (60–80%). Use a humidifier or pebble tray indoors.

  • Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Soil

  • Requires well-draining, airy soil.

  • A mix of orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss works well.

  • Soil pH should be between 5.5 and 7.0.

Fertilizer
