Philodendron verrucosum × Philodendron sodiroi

A fast-growing climber that scales up in leaf size and presence on a moss pole, and noted to be considerably easier to grow than either parent species.

• Light: Bright indirect light for the best leaf development and silvering; avoid direct sun which scorches the velvet surface.

• Soil: Moisture-retentive but well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, peat or coco coir; rich in organic matter. Never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-90°F, never below 55°F; high humidity above 60% supports the best growth, though it tolerates down to around 40%.

• Watering: Keep consistently moist — water when the top inch begins to dry, never letting more than an inch dry out. Flush the soil occasionally to prevent salt buildup. Never waterlog.

• Fertilizer: Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during spring and summer; avoid over-fertilizing, which increases susceptibility to mealybugs. Reduce in winter.
