Philodendron Spiritus-Sancti
A critically endangered Brazilian endemic native to Espírito Santo state, where fewer than six wild plants are known to survive — all on a single privately managed site. More specimens now exist in cultivation than in the wild, and successful tissue culture propagation has made the species more accessible than its legendary status once suggested, though it remains among the most prestigious collector philodendrons available. A hemiepiphytic climber that produces long, narrow, pendant, deeply sword-like leaves with distinctive small auricles at the base — a leaf form found nowhere else in the genus. Leaf size increases dramatically with vertical climbing and overall plant maturity.

Light: Bright indirect light — field data suggests a relatively wide tolerance of 1,000-3,500 fc. More light-adaptable than many collector philodendrons; avoid only harsh direct midday sun.

Soil: Very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and charcoal; excellent aeration and drainage are essential to the hemiepiphytic root system.

Temperature/Humidity: Warm, stable temperatures between 65-80°F; notably more humidity-tolerant than most collector aroids — performs well at 50%+ though 60-75% is ideal.

Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Consistency matters more than any specific schedule.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports the fastest progression toward mature leaf expression. Reduce in winter.

The plant was much larger than expected! The second plant in the pot was pretty small in comparison but the second plant was so much bigger than i expected! The packaging was really good and the plants arrived without much damage at all!
Shipping took a decently long time. The plant arrived healthy and beautiful but with several of the most prominent leaves broken off, so it looks like a smaller plant now. It’s healthy though, and I’m not worried about it surviving.
I am very happy with my order. I had previously gotten scammed by another Etsy seller and wanted yo repurchase all the plants from a different vendor. Not only was the plants absolutely beautiful the seller was a saint when I had made a mistake on my end. Some leaves are a bit unhappy but that’s to be expected being shipped.

The box was smashed by the carrier and caused the plant pot to be smashed. The plant arrived fine, but packaging was lacking. Still will buy from this seller due to the quality of the plants.

My spiritus is beautiful and healthy. And despite the box arriving damaged, the plant didn't have any signs of damage. It was well packed and safe from the cold (and mishandling from transit).
Pleased with the size of the plant. Bigger than expected. The only thing I will mention is that despite how well it was packaged the plant did come out of the pot and was flopping around from the roots at the base. I had to use a chopstick to stabilize it.
I don’t understand why the plant was shipped so wet, but it got here in two days and it seems to be healthy outside of edema in the newest leaf. Photo to come :) I immediately un-potted, rinsed the roots and repotted in a new chunky soil mix with leca, perlite, coco chips and soil.
I’ve been waiting a long time to get this beautiful plant and finally decided to buy it as a treat for myself. I’m only a little disappointed. I would give it 5 stars, but I want to wait a few days to see how this plant and the other one I purchased respond to the treatment I had to give them for thrips. For the price, I wish I hadn’t had this issue. I’ll come back later and give a final rating.
