A variegated selection of the Florida banana — a cultivar developed and grown in Florida, producing the characteristic large, paddle-shaped banana leaves with bold cream, white, and mint-green striping and mottling across a deep green ground, with distinctive pink to reddish coloration along the petiole ridges that adds a further color dimension. Supply is genuinely limited by import restrictions that prevent wide commercial distribution, making this one of the more practically difficult variegated tropical plants to source. A vigorous, large-format plant capable of reaching 8-12 feet in ideal outdoor conditions in Florida's climate, more compact when container-grown indoors.

Light: Full sun to bright indirect light; strong consistent light is essential for the most vivid variegation contrast and most vigorous growth. Insufficient light causes the plant to grow slowly and the variegation to dull.

Soil: Rich, well-draining tropical mix of quality potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark; slightly acidic pH supports the best growth. Never waterlogged or compacted.

Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 68-95°F; cold-sensitive and damaged below 50°F. High humidity of 60-80% supports the largest, most vividly variegated leaves. Well suited to Florida outdoor growing in zones 9b-11.

Watering: Keep the medium consistently moist — a heavy drinker during active growth. Water when the top 2" of soil begins to dry; never allow to dry out completely. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.

Fertilizer: A heavy feeder — fertilize every 4-6 weeks during active growth with a balanced high-potassium formula; a 15-5-10 suits it well. Apply away from the base to avoid salt burn. Unfertilized plants grow very slowly.

**Note: Bananas are very fragile plants. Plants may arrive with browning or curling leaves and some leaves may sustain damage during normal shipping. Browning may also occur during acclimation as they are sensitive to change. Allow minimum 30 days for your plant to adjust after arrival. We cannot offer replacements or refunds for any of these conditions. If browning is a deal breaker, this plant would not be a good fit for you. Images are a general representation of size and color.
Every plant will have a different pattern and level of variegation. Bright light will help increase and maintain variegation. These plants are FAST growing, putting out a new leaf about once a week. Bump up to a larger pot once the roots are grown out (does not need to be root bound). Keep the soil MOIST at all times, dry soil will cause wilting. If planting in the ground (USDA zone 10B and higher) be sure to add compost or manure to the soil amendments and fertilize regularly.
2 Gallon pots ship either as 2 gallon eco or 8" pots, plants will be the proper size regardless.

This is the 3rd order placed and the 3rd rare banana plant received this summer. The first 2 orders were Musa Floridas. Last Friday, I received a Musa Nono. Included is a picture of the Nono on day one. With maturity, it will turn mostly pink. If the Nono and Florida are viable next April, I will place more orders.

This was my second time to order a Musa Florida from this coumpary. If this plant is offered next spring, I will order another one. I wish the Musa Ae Ae and the Musa Nono could be offered, very soon. Please consider doing so. I took a chance on an unknown rare plant offer, and I was 100% satisfied.

The package was slightly crushed but thankfully the plant wasnt damaged too bad. It lost a leaf and the other too are a bit banged up, hoping it recovers. It was delayed a bit, but nothing too bad, overall good seller

Beautiful, healthy dream plant! There's not a ton of variegation, but it's definitely present. In addition to the quality of the plant, I was very impressed with the packaging. The plant was tall but very well protected with padding, cardboard paper, tape, etc. And the box was properly sized and marked as fragile. Very impressed with the sellers quality which was reassuring at this price point and investment. I would sincerely recommend the seller and item!

Arrived late considering I paid extra for quicker shipping, but USPS seems to be having issues and there was a winter storm. A little brown on the edges likely due to how long it was in the mail. Already has a new leaf coming so I suspect it will be fine.
I’m so happy with my banana plant, I was thinking I would get a small plant but it was a nice size! It was probably like 14 inches tall , I am very positive that this banana plant is going to thrive !
