A premium cultivar selection of one of the most graceful strap-leafed anthuriums in cultivation, the 'Guayasa' form of Anthurium pallidiflorum represents a distinct collecting selection from the species' native range in the cloud forests of Ecuador and Colombia, grown at elevations between 800 and 1,500 meters. The species is celebrated for its extraordinarily long, slender, pendulous leaves with a soft sub-velvety texture and deep glossy green surface, and 'Guayasa' — named for its collection locality — distinguishes itself with particularly elegant elongated lanceolate leaves, prominent parallel venation, and exceptional structural integrity in its graceful, cascading form. Like all pallidiflorum, it belongs to the Porphyrochitonium section of the genus and is best displayed in a hanging basket or elevated position where its full pendulous character can drape freely, creating one of the most architecturally refined hanging displays available in the aroid world.

As a true epiphyte, this cultivar demands excellent drainage and root aeration — a very open chunky mix of orchid bark, perlite, and sphagnum or a mounted setup with high ambient humidity is ideal. Provide bright indirect light to support healthy growth and maintain the deep green sheen of the long leaf blades; direct sun scorches the surface rapidly. Keep the medium consistently moist but allow a slight dry-down between waterings — never waterlogged, as root rot develops quickly in stagnant conditions. High humidity of 60-80% is essential, particularly for the full length of the pendulous leaves which are vulnerable to tip browning in dry air. Maintain warm temperatures between 65-82°F away from cold drafts. Toxic to humans and pets if ingested.
