Anthurium crystallinum × Anthurium magnificum

A cross between two of the most celebrated velvet anthuriums — A. crystallinum, prized for its brilliant silver-white crystalline venation against deep velvety green, and A. magnificum, which brings architectural scale, a broadly cordate leaf form, and quadrangular winged petioles. The cross combines crystallinum's high-contrast venation with magnificum's substantial leaf size, producing large, heart-shaped, deeply velvety leaves with prominent silver-white venation. New leaves emerge in a vivid red to bronze coloration before maturing through warm tones to deep green. Self-heading and compact relative to the scale of its foliage.

• Light: Bright but soft indirect light supports the largest leaf development and most vivid venation contrast; insufficient light reduces leaf size and dulls the silver venation. Avoid direct sun.

• Soil: Very open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70-85% is essential for maintaining the velvet texture and supporting clean leaf emergence.

• Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer supplemented with calcium and magnesium every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
