Aglaonema White Paragon

A compact, clumping, self-heading Aglaonema cultivar — a Chinese Evergreen native to the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia and New Guinea — grown for its striking predominantly white to pale foliage with green veining and margins. One of the more genuinely low-maintenance tropical foliage plants available, though the heavily white-toned foliage carries less chlorophyll, making bright light and careful watering more important than for the green-dominant cultivars.

• Light: Bright indirect light is important — the heavily white foliage carries reduced chlorophyll and needs good light to sustain the plant and maintain the pale coloration. Avoid direct sun which scorches the white sectors; too little light weakens growth.

• Soil: Well-draining potting mix with added perlite; good aeration and drainage are beneficial. Never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; does not tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 55°F. Humidity of 50-60% supports the best growth.

• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 1-2" of medium is dry; reduce in winter. The reduced-chlorophyll foliage makes this more sensitive to overwatering — never allow to sit in standing water.

• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; reduce or stop in winter. Avoid over-fertilizing which causes salt buildup and leaf tip burn.
