Anthurium Forgetii White Stripes
A selection of Anthurium forgetii — the Colombian species defined by its fully closed sinus, producing a rounded, ovate leaf with no basal notch — chosen for particularly bold, bright white striping in its primary and secondary venation. The dark velvety leaf surface provides high contrast against the pronounced white veins, intensifying the crisp, graphic vein pattern that makes forgetii and its selections so distinctive. Compact in habit and a consistent parent in collector hybridization.
-
Light: Bright but soft indirect light maintains the white venation contrast and velvety surface; avoid direct sun which dulls the iridescence and scorches the leaves.
-
Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged.
-
Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70-85% is essential for the velvet surface quality and cleanest leaf emergence.
-
Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.
-
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
