Philodendron Pink Princess 'Bubble Gum'

A selection within the Pink Princess lineage of Philodendron erubescens distinguished by particularly vivid, saturated bubblegum-pink variegation — bold pink sectors and splashes against the a more green-tone leaf, where standard pink princess has a darker leaf, almost black in some cases. A climbing philodendron whose variegation is unpredictable across successive leaves, with new leaves emerging with the characteristic bronzed flush before the pink develops. Requires the same care as the standard Pink Princess.

• Light: Bright indirect light is essential for maintaining the pink variegation; insufficient light causes reversion toward green, while too much direct sun scorches the pink sectors. Balanced bright indirect light produces the most vivid pink.

• Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; excellent drainage essential. Never waterlogged.

• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; humidity of 60-70% supports the best leaf quality and cleanest emergence. Avoid cold drafts below 60°F.

• Watering: Allow the top 1-2" of medium to dry between waterings; water thoroughly and drain completely. The variegated form is more susceptible to root rot than standard green erubescens.

• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports growth across the reduced-chlorophyll sectors. Reduce in winter.
