Anthurium Vittariifolium
A pendant strap-leaf anthurium native to the humid tropical forests of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, and Brazil — one of the largest-growing members of its informal group, capable of producing leaves that exceed four to six feet in length in ideal conditions while remaining only a few inches wide. A hemiepiphytic epiphyte that in nature hangs from tree branches and cliff faces in the perpetually moist forest understory, its extraordinary ribbon-like leaves cascading freely downward. Unlike the velvet-surfaced pendant species, A. vittariifolium carries a smooth, semi-glossy to glossy leaf surface — leathery, firm, and deep green, with a prominently raised midrib running the full length of each leaf. An elevated or hanging position is not merely preferred but functionally necessary — the leaves must hang freely to develop to their full length.

Light: Medium to bright indirect light; more adaptable across a light range than velvet pendant species. Avoid direct harsh sun which damages the glossy leaf surface.

Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage; never waterlogged.

Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; humidity of 60-75% supports the best growth — more tolerant of average household humidity than velvet pendant species.

Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports the fastest leaf elongation. Reduce in winter.

plant arrived crazy carefully packaged! I ordered this Anthurium and a Huperzia. Each were very carefully wrapped in cellophane around the pot to hold soil and moisture in then polyfil over the crown to protect the foliage. The box was wrapped in silver thermal plastic insulation too - I paid extra since I live in MN. No damage whatsoever and the plant looks exactly as expected. it even had one small inflorescence! How cool! I was recommended to not transplant for one month so it's been one month and I still haven't. It's doing well in my IKEA cabinet so I'm leaving it alone. I LOVE IT! And I'd highly recommend them!!!

Item arrived as a stump, seller stated was shipped with a 5” leaf. I couldn’t find it but it kist have fallen off during shipping? Seller advised, could send back or keep and get a partial credit to spend at their shop. Not ideal but the remaining plants were excellent. Shipped carefully.

“Large” plant was smaller than expected
My anthurium Vittarifolium arrived on time and with no damage. My starter looks to be in good health with well established roots. Some of the soil was shifted and exposed the plug so I had to add more. I did remove pieces of the fabric plug because I hate them. The roots are large so what remains shouldn’t cause any issues while it grows. I purchased before from this seller and I’m alway very happy with the plants. Definitely worth giving a shot

I am very happy with my order. I had previously gotten scammed by another Etsy seller and wanted yo repurchase all the plants from a different vendor. Not only was the plants absolutely beautiful the seller was a saint when I had made a mistake on my end. Some leaves are a bit unhappy but that’s to be expected being shipped.

I am a littler nervous for her because she was pretty pale upon arrival. I have her in my greenhouse cabinet and she seems to be doing okay and hasn’t dropped any leaves so I am not sure why she appears so pale but as long as she lives on then I am happy!

The plant arrived extremely well packaged. Upon opening package, plant looked very healthy and happy during its travels to me.

My only suggestion is that seller have package USPS once label is created. As package was not in USPS position for far too my days after label created and I had to reach out to ETSY for assistance with shipping information. That request seemed to motivate seller to provide USPS with package.
