Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess' × Philodendron billietiae
A hybrid combining Philodendron 'Pink Princess' — the erubescens cultivar known for its pink variegation against dark green to near-black leaves — with Philodendron billietiae, the climbing species recognized for its long, elongated paddle-shaped leaves and vivid orange petioles. The cross pairs the pink variegation and dark coloration of the Pink Princess parent with the elongated leaf form and warm petiole tones of billietiae, producing variegated climbing foliage that develops its character with maturity. Variegation is unpredictable across successive leaves.

Light: Bright indirect light is essential for maintaining the pink variegation; insufficient light causes reversion toward green, while direct sun scorches the lighter sectors.

Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; excellent drainage essential. Never waterlogged.

Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-82°F; humidity of 60-70% supports the best leaf quality and cleanest emergence. Avoid cold drafts below 60°F.

Watering: Allow the top 1-2" of medium to dry between waterings; water thoroughly and drain completely. The variegated form is more susceptible to root rot than standard green philodendrons.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports growth across the reduced-chlorophyll sectors. Reduce in winter.
