Anthurium Blushed Forget
Anthurium forgetii × Anthurium 'Silver Blush'

A cross between A. forgetii — the Colombian species defined by its closed or nearly closed sinus, rounded leaf outline with no basal notch, and dark velvety surface — and 'Silver Blush', the compact crystallinum-derived selection prized for its shimmering, broadly diffused silver venation. The cross combines forgetii's distinctive rounded, lobeless leaf form with the vein brilliance of the Silver Blush parent, producing velvety leaves with prominent silver-white venation set against a deep green ground. New growth emerges with a warm blush before hardening. Individual seedling expression varies in the degree of sinus closure.

• Light: Bright but soft indirect light maintains the silver venation contrast and velvety surface; avoid direct sun which scorches the leaves.
• Soil: Open, chunky epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage and aeration; never waterlogged.
• Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-80°F; high humidity of 70-80% is essential for the velvet surface quality and cleanest leaf emergence.
• Watering: Keep consistently but lightly moist — allow only the top inch to approach dryness between waterings. Never waterlog; never allow to dry out fully.
• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
