Anthurium Panamense
A pendant strap-leaf anthurium native to the humid tropical forests of Panama and Costa Rica, growing as an epiphyte in the Central American cloud forest understory. It produces long, lance-shaped, pendulous leaves with a soft velvety texture and gentle contrasting venation, hanging with an elegant weight. Among the more forgiving and adaptable pendant velvets — faster-growing and more tolerant of typical indoor conditions than warocqueanum. An elevated or hanging position is ideal to allow the pendant leaves to hang to their full length.
-
Light: Bright to moderate indirect light; the velvet surface benefits from protection against direct harsh sun.
-
Soil: Chunky, open epiphytic mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir with excellent drainage; never waterlogged.
-
Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 64-77°F; high humidity of 60-80% supports the healthiest growth and best velvet quality.
-

-
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during active growth; dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
