Philodendron Florida Green

A hybrid of Philodendron squamiferum and Philodendron pedatum, grown for its deeply lobed, multi-fingered leaves with a clean, glossy deep green surface. The non-variegated counterpart to the Florida Beauty, allowing the distinctive lobed leaf architecture to be appreciated without variegation. It carries the characteristic reddish, slightly bristly petioles of the squamiferum lineage, and is a vigorous climber that develops larger, more dramatically lobed leaves with vertical support.

  • Light: Bright indirect light for the most vigorous growth and most deeply lobed leaves; tolerates moderate light. Avoid direct harsh sun.

  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; excellent drainage essential. Never waterlogged.

  • Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-85°F; humidity of 60-70% supports the best growth, though it adapts well to average household humidity.

  • Watering: Allow the top 1-2" of medium to dry between waterings; water thoroughly and drain completely. Never waterlog.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; supplement with calcium and magnesium for best leaf quality. Reduce in winter.
